Technology Innovation Center
Precision Biomarker Resources is a tenant of the Technology Innovation Center (TIC), a 24-year-old not-for-profit incubator in downtown Evanston, Illinois, north of Chicago. The incubator was established in 1986 by Northwestern University and the City of Evanston and became an independent organization in 2004. TIC is one of the oldest, largest and best-known technology incubators in the United States thanks to its successful graduate companies. TIC welcomed Precision Biomarker as its first biotechnology startup; a move which has served to springboard interest from other entrepreneurs focused on the biopharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

Genisphere
Genisphere is a manufacturer of kits and reagents used for the ultra-sensitive detection of nucleic acids and proteins. Genisphere’s signal amplification product line is based on its proprietary 3DNAŽ Dendrimers. Precision Biomarker Resources has a close relationship with Genisphere’s scientists and is especially proud to use Genisphere’s FlashTag labeling reagents in its microRNA profiling service, having been the first service provider to offer this service to the scientific community.

Biotechnology Industry Organization
Precision is a member of the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), which represents more than 1,100 biotechnology companies, academic institutions, state biotechnology centers and related organizations across the United States and 31 other nations. BIO hosted its annual conference in Chicago in 2006 in recognition of the growing importance of biotechnology companies located in the region. The organization also supports the Food and Drug Administration’s efforts to streamline drug development and foster development of personalized medicine, as reported in a March 2006 FDA Critical Path Opportunities White Paper. BIO is based in Washington, D.C.

Precision is a member of the Illinois Biotechnology Industry Organization (iBIO), an affiliate of BIO that promotes the creation of new life sciences companies in Illinois and the Midwest. iBIO also strives to make sure that Illinois, as a community and as a political entity, works in partnership with life sciences companies of all sizes.
